Where to stay in Paris?

Paris is a huge city, so you’ll want to pinpoint where in Paris your main attractions are. Then you can find the best area for accommodations based on that location.

A great option would be an AirBnB rental near Notre-Dame de Paris and The Louvre Museum. With this location, you’re only minutes away from one of the most visited attractions in Paris and it’s also a short walk to L’avenue des Champs-Elysees, which is another popular spot.

Another great option would be an AirBnB rental near Sacre Coeur Basilica and The Grand Palais Museum. You’ll have lots of options for food and entertainment in this location, as well.

There are lots of other great locations to stay near popular attractions such as the Eiffel Tower or Arc de Triomphe if you’re looking for something a little different!

Do your research about where you want to be based on what is important to you- then find accommodations that are in that area. There is no “one size fits all” choice for hotels or AirBnBs, so you can tailor your stay to what’s most important to you.

What areas of Paris should you avoid?

Paris is a big city, so it’s not possible to avoid all areas. However, there are some that should be avoided for safety reasons.

La Chapelle is a destination known for prostitution and other illegal activities. You’ll want to avoid this area at all costs, especially after dark.

The 16th arrondissement should also be avoided due to an increased number of victims in robberies there.

There are also sections of the 20th arrondissement that aren’t safe, so it’s best to avoid these as well.

Again, there is no “one size fits all” option for accommodations in Paris because you’ll want to choose a location based on your plans and interests. But if safety is something you’re concerned about, be sure to avoid certain areas.

Is it rude to tip in France?

Tipping in France is not as common, but it’s appreciated when you do. It should be noted that there are two types of service- one with a set price and the other without a set price.
